Our core expertise is the machining of parts, down to the smallest dimensions, made of extremely hard materials such as sapphire and ruby, tungsten carbide and ceramic oxides (aluminium oxide and zirconium oxide). We use diamond tools for grinding and polishing.
We are also expert in high-precision turning and milling. Our products are used in medical engineering, measurement technology and high-precision optics.
Our production requires highly specialized machinery which is continually optimized, developed and renewed by our engineering division with additional equipment provided by external suppliers.
We are at our clients' disposal to assist in their product development and optimization.
Our decisions are made for the long term. We are flexible, reliable and take seriously the responsibility to our clients, for our staff and for the environment.
In-house training and professional development ensure that our staff are rapidly familiarized with the highly specialized technologies for processing extremely hard materials.
Our quality management system conforms to ISO 9001:2015.
BIEG was established in 1948, as a successor to a company founded in 1901, which was acquired by IG-Farben in 1933. It is now a family business with a staff of 60.
The roots of BIEG are in the Black Forest's traditional watch-making industry, as a supplier of sapphire and ruby jewels for time-pieces. The specialized manufacturing technologies and the high precision required for watchmaking now underpin the manufacture of modern products for medical technology and other industries which we supply to clients across the globe.
